Customizing the Untitled File/Pre-Filling Fields

You can save information that you want to be included in all new forms. For example, you can pre-fill a processing, handling or transaction fee in the additional terms section of a contract; you can pre-fill the personal property field with information that you typically use for that field; or you can pre-fill a firm name under the commission section of a contract. You can check boxes that you want to have checked via default. Similarly, if you usually strike out certain words, you can apply that strike-out to all new files. These functions are accomplished by modifying the Untitled file. The Untitled file stores information that is used when you create new files. Changes to the untitled cannot be made by using File|Save or File|Save As.

To pre-fill entries in the form:

1)  Start a new file by clicking File|New;

2)  Enter information in any form or forms that you would like pre-filled with certain information each time you start a new file; you can also add strike out or you can check boxes;

3)  Save the pre-filled information to the Untitled File as follows: Click the Tools|Set User Preferences menu;  then click on the "Modify/Restore Untitled File" tab; then click "Save Current Changes to the 'Untitled' File."  This screen also gives you the option of restoring the original default Untitled file (doing so will cancel pre-filling of any information you had previously entered).
